The Role of Service Manager
As a service manager, you play a key role in developing and managing the municipality's digital services in identity management, access, e-services, and automation. You take overall responsibility for the service lifecycle from needs analysis and implementation to management and continuous development with a clear focus on operational benefit and quality. In close dialogue with the operations, you capture needs and translate them into sustainable, efficient, and user-friendly solutions. The Växjö municipal group consists of 13 administrations and companies with different missions, making the role both strategically important, varied, and developmental. The role involves structure and coordination through guidelines, training efforts, networks, and forums, in close collaboration with the operations and technical specialists. An important part of the assignment is supplier management and contract follow-up, where your role is to ensure quality, compliance, and contribute the operational perspective for future procurements.
Collaboration is central, and you work together with other service managers and functions such as Architecture & Development, Service Desk, and the operation of our infrastructure. Security issues are highly prioritized, and you contribute to creating a well-balanced balance between information security and good user experience. Through training, documentation, workshops, and information efforts, you ensure good coordination between different services and dependencies. Together, you work towards a common goal of delivering professional, coordinated, and value-creating digital services to the municipality's various operations.
The role also involves driving development initiatives, monitoring the environment, and identifying how new technology can be used to create concrete benefits. You are responsible for governance, quality, licensing, and ensuring that end users receive the right support, training, and guidance to succeed in their digital work.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is analytical and communicative, with a strong interest in digital development. You have the ability to drive change, collaborate broadly, and build good relationships with various stakeholders. The role serves as an important bridge between operations and IT, where you contribute structure, analysis, and solution focus. You have experience in IT Service Management and are used to handling incidents, changes, and supplier collaboration. Furthermore, you have good communication skills and enjoy networking and collaborating with the operations. You are structured, analytical, and solution-oriented, and have experience working with continuous improvements. We believe you stay continuously updated on digital trends and can assess and evaluate new opportunities. You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing.
To succeed in the role, we believe that you:
- Have relevant education in IT or equivalent work experience
- Have experience working with digital services, system management, or IT-related development.
- Thrive in the intersection between technology and operations and can translate needs into concrete solutions.
Preferred qualifications include experience in:
- Service delivery and governance models such as ITIL
- Supplier management
- Larger digitization and development initiatives
